How to Hide Driver on Windows Explorer

The Following article is tips and tricks to secure data on the disk with hide harddisk or lock the drive, in the Windows version.

- Click the “Start – Run”, type “gpedit.msc” and press Enter.
- Wait until “Group Policy” appeared. Then Click “+” button Behind the “Administrative Templates” in the “User Configuration ” option.
- Click the “+” button besides to “Windows Components”, select “Windows Explorer ”
- Find the “Hide Specified these drives in My Computer” option that appear on the right column with double click. on the tab “Settings”, select “Enable”, and select what drive do you want to hide. Click “Apply – Ok “.
- Find the option “prevent access to drives from My Computer.” Then double click it.
Then select “Enable”, and select the drive which should be limited access. Perform the same steps if you want to stop the access to another drive. Click “Apply – Ok.”
- Close the “Group Policy”.
- Restart the computer to see the changes.

Tips;
- If you only want to hide the hard drive that there in the “My Computer” and still want to access it via Windows Explorer, what you need is to use the option “Hide these specific drives in My Computer.” so, hard disk can be accessed by typing the drive letter, eg “C:” in address bar “Run.”
- If you only want to restrict access to disk. select option “prevent access to drives from My Computer”.
